Client vision to live website
Case: Danish café
Goal
The goal was to translate the client’s vision into a clear, functional website, while adapting to the constraints of a new platform.
Introduction
For this project, I designed and built a website for a café using Squarespace. The goal was to translate the client’s vision into a clear and functional website, while quickly adapting to a new platform.
The project focused on understanding the desired look and feel, and turning that into a structured, user-friendly experience within the constraints of Squarespace.
Process
Design
Using the design guidelines provided by the client, I created a prototype of the landing page. Once approved, I moved on to execution. The remaining subpages were simple and did not require prototypes.
Execution
Working within the constraints of Squarespace, I made minor layout adjustments where needed. Some of the client’s requirements required custom CSS, which I implemented to achieve the desired result.
Feedback
The process was iterative, with ongoing client feedback guiding adjustments to ensure the final design aligned with their vision.

Approach
Working in Squarespace required balancing the client’s vision with the platform’s built-in structure and limitations. Instead of forcing a custom solution, I focused on using the system strategically—adapting layout, hierarchy, and content to achieve the desired look and feel within the framework available.
This required quick learning, problem-solving, and continuous adjustment to ensure the final result stayed aligned with the original vision while remaining functional and easy to navigate.
Results
The result is a fully functional, live website that reflects the intended atmosphere and identity of the café.
The project demonstrates my ability to quickly adapt to new tools and translate abstract ideas into a clear and usable digital product.
